Member Involvement Activities
The Annual Meeting for the membership is held each year in April. At this meeting you’ll receive a financial update, hear the results of the director elections, hear industry and co-op updates, vote on resolutions and visit with co-op board members and employees. Attendance gifts and door prizes are given away.
Come join the fun as we show our appreciation to our members by hosting a pancake breakfast. In addition to enjoying a hardy pancake breakfast, attendees will have the opportunity to visit with co-op board members and employees, view co-op and merchant displays, have their blood pressure checked and much more. We’ll have plenty of fun activities for the kids including a Halloween costume contest, games and a special door prize drawing. Speaking of door prizes, adults will have a chance to walk away with one of many prizes we’ll be giving away. Watch for details of this fun filled event held each year in October.
Operation Round Up is a co-op member funded program designed to raise funds for charitable and educational purposes. The program is administered by a board of trustees comprised of one representative from each of the co-op’s nine sub-districts. Trust board members serve three year terms with a three term limit. Persons interested in serving as a trust board member should contact the co-op.
Annually, the Nominations Committee meets to set the slate of nominees for co-op board positions up for election. This committee is appointed annually by the co-op’s board of directors. Persons interested in serving on this committee should contact the co-op.
The purpose of the Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Member Advisory Group is to improve communication between the membership, the CWEC Board of Directors, and employees, while obtaining member input regarding CWEC’s services and programs.
To accomplish the above goals, the Member Advisory Group meets two times per year to discuss a variety issues affecting Cooperative members. Group members will also be invited to a third meeting that is held jointly with other Cooperative groups. Member Advisory Group members can bring a guest to the meetings.
Members of the Member Advisory Group will seek information and opinions from the CWEC membership in their district, serve to facilitate communications between CWEC and its members, and make suggestions and recommendations to the Board of Directors and staff.
Each Member Advisory Group member can serve a period up to two, three-year terms on a staggering basis. At the completion of two, three-year terms, members will be ineligible for reappointment to the MAG for one year from the end of their term.
To qualify to be a member of the Member Advisory Group, members must have an active CWEC membership at all times during their term. Members must also be in good standing at the time of their appointment, and stay in good standing during their term.
