Oct. 4 - Fall Luncheon Buffet: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. our Savior's Lutheran Church, 395 E Iola, Street, Iola. Menu includes: variety of hot dishes, baked beans, meat, vegetables, seafood, fruit salads, deviled eggs, rolls, and desserts. $10 for adults, $3 for ages 3-12, and free for children under 3. Sponsored by The Women of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Proceeds to benefit charity.

Oct. 12 - "Fight Cancer" Volleyball Match Iola-Scandinavia vs. Rosholt: JV starts at 5:45. Held at Iola-Scandinavia Schools. There will be raffle baskets, bakes sales, concessions & great volleyball games. All proceeds made during the evening will benefit local families that have been affected by cancer.
Oct. 14 - 17th Annual River Run 2023: Central Waters Brewering Co., 351 Allen Street, Amherst. 5-mile or 2-mile course. Registration opens May 1. Early bird pricing until June 1. Oct. 14 - 4th Annual Haunted Hustle 5K Run/Walk: Check-in from 8-8:50 a.m., race starts at 9 a.m., with awards to follow the race. A costume contest will also be held, and will be split into three divisions (10 & under, ages 11-18, 19 and older). Registration forms can be picked up at the Rosholt High School/Middle School Office, various athletic events before the event, or online at www.rosholt.k12.wi.us/ . The first 100 runners to check-in will receive a free Haunted Hustle t-shirt. Event is sponsored by Rosholt High School Student Council.
Oct. 15 - Old Fashion Sunday Dinner: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Faith Lutheran Church, 253 S Main Street, Rosholt. Serving roast beef, baked potato, coleslaw, roasted vegetables, beverage, & dessert. Cost: Adults $15, ages 5-11 years old $7, ages 4 & under are free. Basket raffles will be held to support the church's youth going to National Gathering 2024 in New Orleans. Proceeds benefit the parish's youth religious education.

Oct. 19 - Witt-Birn Nature Center Fall Open House: 4:30-6:30 p.m. Hi-Wood School Forest, W18891 Partridge Lane, Birnamwood. Event is open to the public. Grand opening of low ropes, with guided tours of the low ropes course will be given throughout the event. Attendees can take a stroll or hike on the trails, have fall treats, operate an apple cider press, do arts & crafts, and participate in a guided trail scavenger hunt (bring a flashlight).

Oct. 21 - Lutefisk Supper, Norwegian Bake Sale & Craft Sale: 12:30-6:30 p.m. Northland Lutheran Church, N9880 State Road 49, Iola. Served family style, attendees can sample lutefisk, lefse, meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered carrots, cole slaw, cranberries and Norwegian pastries.
