Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative is an electric utility that provides electricity to 8,280 meters on 1,464 miles of primary and secondary electric lines, which is divided overhead and underground lines in Central Wisconsin. Members are located in parts of Waupaca, Portage, Shawano, and Marathon counties. The Co-op is governed by a Board of Directors, who are elected by its members. We are founded on seven principles that still guide us today.
Utility cooperatives are private, independent businesses whose members have a financial interest in the operation. They are not-for-profit, democratically governed corporations that are based in the communities they serve.
Cooperative profits, or margins, are either reinvested in the cooperative or returned to the member-owners as patronage capital. Energy cooperatives provide technologically advanced and reliable service to 40 million Americans while maintaining a unique consumer-focused approach to business.
In addition to meeting your electric needs, we are pleased to offer a variety of services designed to enhance the quality of life or rural central Wisconsin. Please check out the Products and Member Services to find out what we have to offer.
