Sam Trzebiatowski, a senior at Rosholt High School, has received first place in the WECA Essay Scholarship contest, and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The contest called for students to submit a 600-1,200-word essay in response to a question related to electric cooperatives and youth involvement. Trzebiatowski’s essay was about the impact on his life and community in a world without electricity. To give himself a better perspective on how his life would be impacted, he spent three days without electricity during the summer.
