If your monthly residential bill varies because of seasonal loads, budget billing will help you balance your payments over the year. To qualify, your account must be residential and be billed on a monthly basis. The amount you pay each month is based on usage over the past 12 months. Periodically your account is reviewed to insure that your budgeted amount reflects usage. If you are interested in budget billing, contact our Iola office for details.
If a bill remains unpaid after the 4th of the month, the cooperative shall then have the right to discontinue service to the member after 8 days written notice. If you do not reconcile your account after you receive the written disconnect notice, you may receive a telephone call stating that your account is past due. This will be your final disconnect notice. You will be subject to pay all electric charges and fees associated with the disconnection policy.
If you have questions about your bill or have been notified of a service disconnect, call us as soon as possible to discuss your situation. Depending on your account history, special payment arrangements may be available to you.
Beginning November 1 to April 15, Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative is able to utilize load limiters to those members who are delinquent with their electric bill payments. Load limiters are installed to allow the member with 30 minutes of electricity usage, then 30 minutes with no usage. That continues 24 hours per day until the electric bill has been reconciled.
Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative is not governed by the rules and regulations established by the Public Service Commission, therefore service disconnection is optional for the cooperative. Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative chooses to utilize the load limiters rather than a complete service disconnection during the months of November-April.
Non-Sufficient Funds Policy
All NSF checks received will be assessed a $25.00 charge and are given 7 days to pay in cash or by money order.
Automatic Bill Payment
Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative now has the ability to receive Automated Clearing House transfers for payment of electric bills. For those members enrolled, a direct charge would be made to your checking account on the thirtieth day of the month for the amount of your electric bill.
